ABOUT UBER
Uber’s mission is to make transportation as reliable as running water -- everywhere, for everyone. The app was created in 2009 to solve a simple problem - how do you get a ride at the touch of a button? Six years and over a billion trips later, we’ve started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars. Uber is now operational in 4 Romanian cities: Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, and Brasov.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Passionate about communication, startups, and technology, Irina Scarlat does the marketing magic for Uber and leads the marketing efforts in Romania. Before joining the Uber power team, Irina was the Chief Marketing Officer of How to Web, the most important tech conference in South Eastern Europe, and TechHub Bucharest, co-working space and meeting place for the Bucharest tech community.
Entrepreneur at heart, she had her own communication agency for tech startups, as well as Akcees, an NGO whose purpose was to educate new generations of young entrepreneurs for Romania. She lived in 7 cities all around the world and mentored hundreds of tech startups.
