Proposal to Open an International Dutch School with education for gifted

Proposal about a possible education co-operation between our two countries.

Who we are?

We are Centrul Gifted Education dedicated exclusively to gifted kids, a Romanian non-profit, ECHA member since 2012, who has developed a gifted program for children aged 7-12.

Here is a presentation.

We want to open an alternative primary school dedicated to gifted aged 6-12. We have 4 years of expertise of direct work with gifted children, over 900 hours of expertise with an enrichment curriculum dedicated to kids with IQs above 130. We have 100% satisfaction rate among the kids. We have developed special measures and apprach, woth special teachers, based on our team’s huge committmment.

What we are interested in?

We would be happy to develop a close partnership and open a Gifted International primary school under the auspicies of the Netherlands Ministry of Education in Romania, in close co-operation with a similar profile chain of schools in the Netherlands –i.e. Leonardo Gifted Schools.

A little information provided on the Internet shows that Leonardo Schools are quite a unique approach of education in Europe, which now is striving to develop for the first time in history a network of organizations supporting gifted kids (See ECHA’s European Council for High Ability efforts in the last couple of years).

What we want (proposals)

· To open a Leonardo Gifted School in Romania, with a special adapted curriculum for gifted children

· To develop a specialized and adapted curriculum here, in partnership /other options

· To train our teachers with the training services offered by Educate2XL from Netherlands (the developers of the gifted Dutch curricula)

· To make exchange programs in education for children in both countries

How can this happen?

The funds to develop such a close partnership can be obtained through a tax option used by a Dutch-Romanian Company or a consortium of companies:

Using state provision of Tax deductibility on Profit for Dutch-Romanian Companies – in the Romanian tax law the companies can sponsor non-profits based on a tax formula. At a national level about 300 million euros can be directed to non-profits. We could have Dutch-Romanian companies sponsoring this project

Benefits

We think that a Dutch Gifted School in Romania could be a quite unique opportunity to benefit both sides in:

Aquiring brand image amongst a very select audience (high intellect people) for the company sponsoring
The School will be quite unique in this part of Europe and will attract much visibility as a single entity of education
Developing close cooperation in a highly reveered education branch of gifted education with great European visibility
Developing exchange programs for children (exchanging visits for children in both countries)
(possibly) Teaching gifted children of Dutch expats in our school (based on a fee)

Other benefits

Our future plan is to extend the model and develop a network of gifted schools across several cities in Romania (like Leonardo Gifted Schools have developed in the Netherlands)
We could develop a close language co-operation and teach Dutch to gifted children
We could adapt and develop with our teaching expertise the Educate2XL curriculum in Romanian and English languages, which would benefit international children enrolled in the school

Our Goal as a Primary School

Our goal is to get internationally affiliated and accredited as a primary school and work towards an adapted, specialized curricula for gifted kids, to have the best teachers & materials for them.

Our mission is to discover and to develop the potential of high ability children with an education of excellence. We aim at developing the best internationally validated curricula for developing their natural abilities, creating best practices in education and configurating networks of talented teachers and mentors.

Vision

An enriching environment where children can be nourished in their great abilities and aptitudes to grow and develop to their maximum potential.

Education Goal

Our Education goal is to develop autonomous personalities, autonomous thinking, higher order thinking skills, well-being, and a rounded harmonious personality, taking in consideration the special needs of gifted kids and offering them best opportunities to learn and play.

General Situation in Romania

The state here is not offering a specialized program for gifted, ignores them in fact, and hinders much. We are looking for a very important development for our 4-year-expertise program and we are committed to finding a strong and solid partner who can see also our efforts, appreciate our tremendous work and see a future together for gifted. We can boast that after 4 years of successful work, we are really keen to have a successful school. We have seen high demands from both the children and the Romanian parents. Also, there is a high population of gifted children, not addressed so far (perhaps 200,000 children at a state level, based on INS statistics).
